McNamara Skatepark in Merced – Small and Simple

The McNamara Skatepark in Merced California is a small skatepark that provides a decent variety of skating obstacles and transitions. Kids will enjoy this skatepark and advanced riders will definitely find fun here, but the size of the park limits the amount of skate-able lines.

First Impressions of McNamara Skatepark:

My first impression of the McNamara Skatepark is that it is a pretty small skatepark but riders can still find different transition types here.

Pros: Street obstacles including ledges, rails, boxes, stairs, and a half pipe.

Cons: No bowls, and very limited vert.

Riders Thoughts:

The McNamara Skatepark in Merced California is a decent little skatepark. This skatepark is ideal for traditional skateboard because of the size and street obstacles. Here riders will find a set of stairs as well as a variety of boxes, ledges, and rails.

As well as these street obstacles, riders will find that one side of the skatepark has a shallow vert section with smooth transitions. This area is lined in coping and makes for a pretty good small half pipe. The size of these walls are great for learning to drop in and the height of the walls make this a good halfpipe for kids.

There is definitely some flow to this park, but the small size of this Merced Skatepark really limits what lines you can find while riding a longboard in the skatepark.

The McNamara Skatepark has a few different ramp type. There are a number of flat ramps at different angles of steepness as well as some rounded smooth turns and roll ins.
