Riders Thoughts:

The Barstow Skatepark is a great skatepark for riders with a street riding style. You’ll find that most of the obstacles and features are for street style tricks.

Some of these great street obstacles include a few different boxes with multiple different angles on them. There is also a good variety of sizes for these boxes and many ledges too.

The Barstow Skatepark features multiple different sets of stairs which vary in height and width. Some of these stair sets are well integrated into the cement ramps. On one of these sets of stairs is where you can find the lone rail in the skatepark.

One corner of the skatepark is home to the only banked turn in the skatepark. This banked turn is about 5 feet tall and covered in full coping. Because there is only one banked turn in the whole skatepark, the Barstow Skatepark doesn’t have a whole lot of flow going on.

The variety of flat ramps can be good for riding a longboard in the skatepark because the angles of these ramps are pretty mellow. The helps prevent your longboard from bottoming out. But the down side is that once down the ramp there aren’t many places to go for a line.

For the vert riders, there is one bowl in the Barstow Skatepark. This bowl is almost an oval, with a variety of depths. The bowl is almost completely surrounded in coping with the exception of one very steep roll in area.

All in all, the Barstow Skatepark is a medium size skatepark great for the street style rider. The openness of this skatepark may make it good for little ones as well. But if you’re looking to longboard in a skatepark, you might want to check out a different skatepark.
