Sk8 George Skatepark in Utah

After our great longboarding experience in Cedar City on the Coal Creek Trail, we were excited to check out the skate scene and trail system in Saint George. Follow us as we check out a portion of the Santa Clara River Trail and then the Sk8 George Skatepark!

We started with a short section of the Santa Clara River Trail called Hilton Drive Trail. The trail starts at a neighborhood park that has a playground, volleyball courts, horseshoe pits, restrooms and a picnic area. 

The neighborhood park is really close to the Sk8 George Skatepark too! From the park, the skatepark is only about a quarter mile skate. But first we wanted to check out the paved Santa Clara River Trail so we passed the skatepark and followed the trail for about 1.5 miles. We headed southwest to Bluff Street which is a pretty bust road packed with restaurants and stores. From here, you can connect to other segments of the Saint George trail system.

But from there we decided to turn back. And on the way back we hit up the Sk8 George Saint George Skatepark.

Checking Out the Sk8 George Skatepark

The Sk8 George skatepark is a large, fun skatepark! As a longboarder, I really enjoyed the roll in transitions and the flow of the snake bowls.

There are a number of rails to grind and boxes in the street section of the park. Along with many areas to roll into the main skate area, there are a number of quarter pipes with coping.

The big bowl has two shallow sections as well as a large deep area. These sections of the bowl link together really well.

When we first arrived around noon when the kids were still in school we had the skatepark mostly to ourselves. But later in the day there was a lot more traffic and a large scooter scene.

Overall, this section of the Santa Clara trail was pretty short and not very exciting, but the Sk8 George Skatepark was a lot of fun!
