Exciting SeaTac Pump Track near Seattle – Asphalt Surfing
The SeaTac Pump Track is a great place for longboarding and a fun place for bikes, too! Located 15 minutes south of Seattle and only 6 minutes from the SeaTac Airport, this is one of the best pump tracks in the Seattle area! The SeaTac pump track actually consists of two separate tracks located right next to each other. The smaller Velosolutions pump track is open to longboards, skateboards, bikes, scooters, or any other coasting vehicle. But the larger raceway pump track has a focus on BMX racing and use with bikes.

First Impressions of the SeaTac Pump Track:
The atmosphere of the SeaTac Pump Track is unmatchable, mostly because of all the airplanes!! Because the pump track is so close to the airport there is almost a constant line of low level fly-by take offs! Aside from the noise and airplanes, you walk up to an amazing asphalt pump track with a huge “dirt” pump raceway for bikes!

Pros: Super smooth, flowy, and fun layout!
Cons: Bikes only on the raceway.

Riders Thoughts of SeaTac Pump Track:
The SeaTac pump track is a great example of what the Velosolutions brand can make. And the track is so much fun for longboarding! It’s a great place to get out and surf the asphalt.

There are often tall wood berms on pump tracks, and they are usually used by bikes but avoided by skaters/longboarders. That’s because there is usually a pretty substantial gap between the wood and the asphalt that would get a skateboard wheel stuck. But the SeaTac Pump track has a very well designed wood berm. It has a very smooth transition that is very rideable with a board. This was the first time I have seen such a good wood berm and had an opportunity to skate it, so I had to go for it!

Skating on the wood berm is a thrill! The sound and feel of the board and wheels riding atop the wood planks makes a very unique and distinguishable sound and a feeling that is hard to match!

The SeaTac Pump Track has a great layout! It provides riders with a number of opportunities to switch routes and take the turns and track in a different direction.

The SeaTac Pump track can be a very fast track if you push yourself and take full advantage of the humps and rollers. But if you are not that experienced of a rider, you can still have fun here.

SeaTac Pump Track Raceway
The Raceway at the SeaTac Pump Track is exactly what it sounds like, a pump track built just for racing! This track was built for use by bikes and is very clearly posted to be used by bikes only. But after skating the smaller track all day, I had to go up to the raceway and ask if I could do just one lap with the longboard.

The surface of the raceway pump track is a combination of asphalt berms and a very hard compact dirt that is chemically sealed to create a very hard surface. The people here were not sure how the soft longboard wheels would do in the “dirt” and were a little hesitant to let me ride. So we gently tested the dirt with the soft longboard wheels and it felt just like riding on cement, so I took a lap!

I easily made it through the entire raceway, but it was honestly way slower than I expected. Not because of the surface, just because of the space between rollers and how long the track really is. Bikes can obviously propel themselves by pedaling. But I was strictly limited to propelling myself by pumping which makes this track possible but not nearly as thrilling as the smaller, smoother track.
