Unique Skating Experience at Lafayette Skatepark in Colorado

The Lafayette Skatepark in Colorado is a 19,000 square feet concrete Team Pain skatepark that really does appeal to all types of skaters and skating styles. The city of Lafayette opened this skatepark in December of 2010 with a plan to make this park memorable and different than other skateparks in Colorado by providing a number of unique features and obstacles found nowhere else! The flow and smooth transitions of the Lafayette Skatepark in Colorado make for a fun environment for some cement surfing. And the layout is a lot of fun for longboarding in a skatepark.

Riders Thoughts: Lafayette Skatepark

It doesn’t take long to realize that the Lafayette Skatepark is a very unique skatepark that has a ton of features and obstacles that you won’t find anywhere else. Some of these unique features include cool surfaces such as giant rocks, granite, and even marble! There are a few really skinny ramps that I have never seen anywhere else. These features can aid riders in coming up with creative tricks and lines.

My favorite part of the Lafayette Skatepark is the large bowl and snake run area that is packed with smooth transitions, pockets, and banked turns. There are a number of levels to this area that all link together with smooth humps and transitions that create a great flow that can feel non stop.

The great flow in this area is a lot of fun for cement surfing in the skatepark. The banked turns are great for pumping up some speed and cruising!

The Lafayette Skatepark is great for all skaters, so naturally there is a great street skating section packed with features. Riders can find a variety of ramps, quarter pipes, stairs, rails, and boxes. Some of these boxes are even topped with marble surfaces!

The next most fun bowl (in my opinion) is the shallowest bowl. I like this bowl because the rounded square(ish) shape has a good flow and many ways to get in. This bowl has coping, cement ledges, and a roll in. One cool feature of this bowl is the rounded hump in the middle which aids riders in pumping and building speed during a run. This bowl is similar to the small bowl at the Arvada Skatepark. This bowl also has a cool ramp made out of rocks! The different height of the walls in this bowl is good for riders to gradually improve their skills.

The next bowl is slightly larger and deeper with a much different shape. This is more of a longer skinny bowl with rounded corners. This bowl has metal and cement coping all around the edges, so you gotta drop in here.

The last bowl at the Lafayette Skatepark is a steep heart shaped pool bowl surrounded in cement coping. The steepness of this bowl makes it the most advanced bowl in the park.
