This skatepark offers a lot of great obstacles for street riders, but offers just as much opportunity for vert riders as well. Riders will find a number of stand alone bowls around the park. One of these bowls is a large square bowl about 6 feet deep with rounded banked turns and a strategically placed rounded hump in the middle of it. This hump is a great feature because it really allows riders to build and maintain speed throughout their entire run in the bowl. This bowl has a variety of wall heights and is fully lined in coping.

My favorite part of the Arvada Skatepark is the large scale snake run and the vert section in the back of the park. This section is great for longboarding in a skatepark because of the huge vert walls and smooth transitions in every direction. Here, riders can easily build up a lot of speed and get high on the tall vert walls. Riders can easily maintain a high speed while pumping through a variety of banked turns.

The wall and the bridge at the Arvada Skatepark separates the street and vert sections of the park. The two areas are connected through a tunnel under the bridge. Atop the bridge serves as a starting point for many riders into the vert section. This is where riders can often find a line of people waiting their turn to drop into the snake bowl. This area is also where you’ll find BMX bikes going fast and jumping high into the air.

More About the Layout

The smooth transitions into large snake bowl area are great for longboarding in a skatepark because there are so many of them in a variety of sizes. These are great for starting small and slowly building the confidence and skills it takes to roll into the steep and tall sections.

There are a few other stand alone bowls at the Arvada Skatepark. One of them is a large bean shaped bowl fully lined in coping. The other large bowl has a pretty unique square and oval shape. This large bowl has both metal and cement style coping and one side of the bowl is deeper than the other.

Advanced riders will love everything about the Arvada Skatepark. Street riders have more obstacles than they can count! Vert riders have plenty of bowls, tall walls and banked turns. And longboarders have plenty of room to cruise between the smooth transitions in every direction.

The Arvada Skatepark is a great and well known skatepark in the Denver area therefore it is often very busy. When we visited there were a ton of people everywhere – skateboards, scooters, and BMX bikes. During busy times, the amount of athletes and traffic can be intimidating to new or unconfident riders. If it is not crowded then this is a great skatepark for athletes of any age and any skill level because there is such a variety of obstacles.

In addition to the many large features, there are also plenty of small to medium sized obstacles and ramps all over the park. And the range of obstacle sizes is great for riders to learn on and slowly build and improve their skills.
