Kremmling Skatepark | Unique Features for Longboarding

The Kremmling Skatepark is a medium sized cement skatepark measuring in at 7,000 square feet. This Grindline skatepark opened in 2007 and is located right next to the West Grand High School in Kremmling, Colorado. This skatepark has some good street obstacles as well as unique vert features. I found the large bowl and vert section fun for cement surfing while longboarding in a skatepark.

First Impressions: Kremmling Skatepark

After parking in the high school parking lot, walk through the fence and over gravel then the skatepark is just past the track. I didn’t expect to see such dramatic features in the Kremmling Skatepark so I was surprised to see the bowl and the bridge with a tunnel!

Riders Thoughts:

The Kremmling Skatepark is a pretty cool cement skatepark that has some unique features that both new and experienced riders can enjoy. Here you’ll find a medium sized vert/bowl area as well as a pretty good street section.

Riders will find a relatively flat perimeter around the Kremmling Skatepark which is great for getting in some laps and warming up for the larger features. This wide platform around the perimeter also cuts across the middle of the large bowl via the bridge over the tunnel. The top of this bridge is about 3-4 feet wide and smooth, which makes it pretty easy to cross over. But the 8 foot drops on either side of the bridge will quickly remind riders to stay aware!

I found the large bowl area to be the most fun feature of the Kremmling Skatepark. The tall vert walls and large banked turns give this area of the skatepark a lot of flow and make a fun environment for longboarding in a skatepark. The unique shape to the Kremmling bowl has a lot of pockets with a variety of depths which also helps riders maintain speed throughout an entire run. In this vert section you can find both metal and cement coping ledges.

The large bowl area is split into two sections via the bridge and the tunnel. The large side of the bowl has most of the pockets and tall walls, but through the tunnel riders can find the shallower section of the bowl. This area is more like an old school pool bowl because of the shape of the steep walls, the cement pool coping and the stair set inside the bowl.

The street section of the Kremmling Skatepark has a number of street obstacles and features. These include rails, boxes, metal and cement ledges, ramps, and a few construction barriers. This area of the skatepark feels pretty compact, but the obstacles have a good placement and remain very usable.
