Turlock Skatepark | Brandon Koch Memorial Skatepark

The Turlock Skatepark is called the Brandon Koch Memorial Skatepark. It is a cool, compact little skatepark with features and obstacles that street riders will enjoy skating. This is a smooth cement skatepark and great for riders of any skill level.

First Impressions of the Turlock Skatepark:

Pros: Different transitions all over the park, lots of boxes and rails

Cons: No bowls, very minimal vert

Know Before You Go: Turlock Skatepark is located in Donnelly Park where you can find a large pond, two playgrounds, restrooms, basketball court, and picnic tables. The park and skatepark are open 7 am to dusk.

Riders Thoughts:

The Turlock Skatepark is an odd shape for a skatepark. When you first get to the skatepark you come to the Brandon Koch Memorial then the skatepark begins with a long skinny corridor of skate obstacles.

This long skinny part of the Turlock Skatepark has a short rounded rail and five different boxes of a varying heights and lengths. One of them is a unique circle shaped box which happens to be right next to a smooth rounded hump. This hump is great for pumping up speed.

From the rounded hump, riders enter the larger and wider section of the skatepark where you can find a raised platform with a number of stair sets, ramps, ledges and rails.

Riders can find a few different quarter pipes around the Turlock Skatepark as well as a few other similar sized obstacles but with different shaped ramps. You’ll find two stair sets on the back end of the center platform.

At the back of the skatepark riders will find a medium size rounded “U” shaped bowl/banked turn. This area is the only banked turn in the Turlock Skatepark and is surrounded in coping. The steepness of this area is great for learning to drop in on a skateboard. This area of the skatepark can also make for a decent half pipe.

Overall, the Turlock Skatepark is a good skatepark for riders of any age or skill level. Advanced riders will have a blast here because of the diversity of transitions and obstacles. And the size of these obstacles are great for people still learning too.
